The 2019 National College Games recently announced the results of the competition. With its outstanding performance, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals.

In the 2019 National College Games, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology sent 71 players to participate in the competition, including 7 kinds of sports such as track and field, billiards, tennis, taekwondo, badminton, boxing and golf. Yu-Zhen Wang won the gold medal of 10,000-meter race walking in women’s track and field competition; Bin Wang won the silver medal of 200-meter race in men’s track and field competition. Jing-Lian Guo, Bin Wang, Bo-Wen Wang, and Wei-Yun Zheng won the bronze medal of 400x4-meter relay. Wei-Zhen Tu won the bronze medal of the tenth-level boxing men’s open group. Rui-Han Wang won the bronze medal in Taekwondo of 62 kg class in the general women group. All these brilliant performances are very valuable.

The overall performance of the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is outstanding, showing the results of their great training over the past year. Ever since Deng-Maw Lu became President of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, he has been taking the lead of teachers and students, encouraging them to do sports, in order to arouse the spirit of sportsmanship. In addition to actively investing in the construction of high-quality sports venues, he has also enhanced their awareness of the importance of sports with regularly participation in competitions, such as student basketball, volleyball, badminton, and billiards. Moreover, he expanded the school-wide teacher-student sports meetings during celebration activities. In addition, "Teaching Staff Walk" and "Vibrant Oxygen Class" are also required in order to encourage the faculty and staff to engage in sports,. It is hoped that the staff will develop good habits of sports and achieve the goal of strengthening the country.

Director Rong-Yu Su of the STUST Sports Center said that athletes who win prizes in any competition can gain experience from the competition, break through themselves and move forward, which is the most precious asset for the contestants. Gratitude should be given to the coaches for their hard work and their training of students this year. President Deng-Maw Lu also expressed his encouragement and gratitude to the players for their achievements. He also hoped that the players could break through themselves and show their strength in the future competitions, creating good results and enhance the sports atmosphere for teachers and students of the school and establish the concept of "sports for a lifetime."
