The "Youth Design Festival" collection of the College of Digital Design, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology recently participated in the 2019 Youth Design Festival Creative Design Competition, organized by the Bureau of Culture of Kaohsiung City, and was exhibited in the Pier-2 Art Center of Kaohsiung City. After the final selection, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology achieved remarkable results, winning a total of 5 awards, including 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal, and 2 excellency awards.

In this creative design competition, the Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, performed outstandingly in the Interactive Technology and Game Design Category, including the gold medal, the silver medal and one excellency award. It was the most fruitful result for the Youth Design Festival Collection of STUST. At the same time, it also showed the industry the strong soft power of the exhibition team. With its excellent faculty lineup, innovative teaching methods, and creative design direction, the department demonstrated the utmost creative strength of the top universities. The winner of gold medal was created by the team directed by Prof. Hua-Cheng Chang—"Frenzy Retribution," and the silver medal was taken by the team directed by Prof. Fang-Zhen Hu and Prof Mao-Kun Shao—Action Code 580." The Excellency Award was given to the team directed by Prof. Zheng-Nin Chiu and Shi-Jie Liao—Recollection. Among them, "Frenzy Retribution" has received industry attention since the beginning of the year. It won great prizes in the New Generation Design Exhibition and the Grand View Awards. It is the most outstanding work this year by the Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment.

The Department of Visual Communication Design also had excellent performances in the Visual Communication Design Category." The work "Chongdou Travel—Visual Design of Tickets to Taiwan's Local Thematic Sightseeing," created by the team directed by Prof. Zhong-Ren Chen, stood out of many works and won the Excellency Award.

The Department of Creative Product Design also had outstanding performance in the 3D Modeling and Product Design Category. The work "Grassroots Bring Good Luck” created by the student team directed by Pro. Hong-Ming Chen broke through many works to win the bronze award. The Department of Creative Product Design was established in 2010. With the efforts of all the teachers and students of the department, it has demonstrated a strong design capacity and laid a solid foundation for the future to become a top design school.
