Teachers and students of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology have been deeply involved in the creation of rural areas

Student Entrepreneurship Team—"Come Do the Farming Studio"— of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology cooperated with Taiwan City Houbi District Dingchang Community Development Association—a local non-profit organization—to promote the activity from transplanting to harvesting the innovative agricultural period experiencing activity. It was a great design from the beginning of the spring to the summer solstice, based on the first phase of rice farming and supplemented by 12 solar terms. The three stages of farming activities ended with joy and harvest. A few days ago, the team members went to the Fujia Rice Factory and Fangrong Rice Factory in Houbi area to carry out the rice milling and rice processing process. The team designed the appearance packaging by itself and gave back the fruit of the harvest to the participants.

From the transplanting of the spring rain period, the field care of the Chingming Valley Rain, to the harvest of the summer solstice, Members who participated in the rice farming activities claimed the field with $NT 2,000 per unit. In addition to the well-designed three-stage activities, such as transplanting, field maintenance and harvesting, there was the rice milling, by which they could receive at least 12 packs of 600 grams of Tainan No. 16 quality Yueguang rice.

The biggest feature of this agricultural activity is to regain the traditional inorganic rice cultivation method, with a number of 70 to 80-year-old rice cultivators as lecturers, and integrate innovative design into it. The participants could not only deeply feel the hard work of farming operations but also learn from the creative activities, understanding the process of rice recycling, establishing a correct concept of cherishing food, and having positive benefits for the promotion and promotion of food education. This activity was carried out by traditional farming methods, and the time taken was relatively time-consuming. After harvesting the rice, they abandoned the modern large-scale machine drying and chose the non-machinery sun-drying methods. The rice was also found in the large-scale wooden traditional rice milling machine with a long history, which was supported by the Fujia Rice Factory. The difference between the traditional method of making rice and the commercially available rice was that it was clear which field it came from. The disadvantage is that the shelf life was shorter. Yet, the micro-humidity rice is amazed to eat. The good reviews and the numerous feedbacks can make participants more confident in the farming next year.

Prof. Bi-Ching Tseng, instructor of the entrepreneurial team, said that the rice farming experience in the first half of the year ended in a process full of laughter and sweat. After the students sent them the rice, they received many participants. The ideas and feedback of the event would make the participants more motivated to hold other more interesting activities. "Come Do the Farming Studio" will continue to work on this right thing. The second phase of the second half of the farming experience (with food in good variety put aside) will start on September 21, with the growth of fruits and vegetables as the main feature, including tomatoes, cherry radishes, sweet potato leaves and rapeseed. After the end of the rice planting, it is important to take heed of how to maintain the good cycle of the soil and understand the relevant knowledge of various types of fruits and vegetables during sowing and harvesting. It is hoped that the team can continue the spirit of working as a farmer, bringing light and heat to the land where they grow up.
