The team that won two gold medals was composed of 4 students—Feng-Jia Zheng, Kai-Rong Peng, Shuan-Yan Li, and Wei-Ming Gao—under the guidance of Associate Professor Kun Ouyang from the Department of Creative Product Design of STUST. They won the Children Products-Health & Baby Care Category and Industrial and Life Science Design-Aids/Prosthetics Category with their work "HanDo," which is a prosthetic specifically designed for children aged 6-12 with unilateral limbs. By means of its modular and adjustable design, kits are designed for learning, sports, entertainment, and living to improve the economic problems caused by frequent replacement of entire prostheses and to assist children with severed limbs in their daily living and meet their needs in school learning, so that they can grow up healthy and happily.

Another work—"T³ Monster"—also under the guidance of Associate Professor Ouyang Kun, was created by Yu-Ling Tseng, Han-Yu Liu, Wen-Shuan Chao, and Ying-Jjie Wang, which won the Gold Medal of the Children Products-Health & Baby Care Category and the Silver medal of Education-Teaching Aids Category. "T³ Monster" is a set of training aids for children with delayed hand development. The work comes with gameplay contents for different hand muscle groups to achieve different training purposes. In addition, T³ Monster is also combined with the use of the APP. The APP can automatically integrate the record of each game so that the therapist and parents can use the recording function to understand, when the child returns to the clinic and practice, whether the progress is completed and whether effective progress are achieved.

The third award-winning work—Visual Land—was created by Yi-Jie Zhu, Yang-Zhen Shie, Jia-Hong Wang, Pei-Yi Wu, Li-Shian Shu, and Shen-Hong Zheng under the guidance of Associate Professor Ouyang Kun from the Department of Creative Product Design and Associate Professor Wan-Rong Chang from the Department of Electronic Engineering. The work, which won the bronze medal in the Education-Teaching Aids Category, is based on a number of fairy tales. It was designed for the digital attention training aids to 4-6-year-olds. The training data is graphed so that parents can understand their child's progress in detail. Through cloud transmission, the therapist can also check the current training effectiveness in order to adjust the training policy.

Deng-Maw Lu, President of STUST, said that in 2020, STUST stood out in major international competitions and have successively obtained good results in representative competitions in the world. This shows that STUST students have reached international design standards. STUST has always encouraged teachers to lead students to participate in various competitions at home and abroad to stimulate students' potential. Over the past years, STUST has established a mature mechanism of talent cultivation. It is hoped that students can acquire various majors in industrial application technologies during the development of their works, engaged in the workplace and seamlessly integrated with the industry. With all these they can grasp the blueprint for future development.
