Prof. Dan-Ching Liang from the Department of Information and Communication, STUST, won first prize of College Group in the National Super Teacher Awards, known as the Oscar Awards in education. She was elected from a total of 52 SUPER teachers from all the counties and cities across the country.

The SUPER Teacher Awards, sponsored by the National Teachers' Association, was originally scheduled to an event on Teachers' Day. However, due to the impact of the current pandemic, it was postponed until a few days ago. The awards aim to encourage teachers who hold educational ideals to continue to devote themselves to educational work. Since 2003, the National SUPER Teacher Awards have been held by the National Teachers' Association. The purpose is to discover excellent teacher models and encourage good teachers who are dedicated conscientious and idealistic to education.

Minister of Education Wen-Zhong Pan said that SUPER teachers have five characteristics: super strategic (S), super unique (U), super passionate (P), super effective (E), and super responsive (R). He said that these teachers should be very popular with students, and he hoped all teachers would be SUPER teachers.

Prof. Dan-Ching Liang from STUST has once worked in the American journalism and communication industry for many years. She is familiar with the operation of the industry and has a good relationship with the industry. She often invites professionals and masters from the industry to the university to share their different experiences and expand students' horizons of knowledge. Prof. Liang takes “results-orientation” as her teaching philosophy and students as the center of her teaching. She hopes that students can have growth, achievement, competence, and success. She is a teacher who emphasizes "concrete achievements and works" and who is very charismatic in personality. Prof. Liang is from Singapore, and she moved to Taiwan with her husband after studying and working in the United States for years. Over the past 2 decades of her teaching career, she has adhered to the concept of "doing things with heart, being a person with love, and teaching students with love" in the face of challenges. She is very grateful to all the students she has taught and the support provided by STUST, which is good teaching environment that allows her to develop her strengths. After teaching for many years, Prof. Liang still maintains her very first intention and enthusiasm. After seeing the progress and transformation of students, she believes that all her efforts are worthwhile. Looking forward to the future, Prof. Liang will continue to contribute what she has learned on her teaching, looking forward to making more Students broaden their horizons and move towards a bright future!

Deng-Maw Lu, President of STUST, said that Prof. Dan-Ching Liang has been repeatedly elected as an excellent teaching teacher of STUST. In addition to her outstanding performance in teaching and competition, she devotes herself to her teaching and class management, always keeping great relationships with parents of her students. STUST has always attached great importance to teachers' teaching practice and quality assurance; that is why four teachers, including Prof. Liang, have won the Super Teacher Awards. The other winners are Prof.r Zhong-Chun Wu of the Department of Mechanical Engeering, who won the National Super Teachers' College Group in 2015; Prof. Yi-Chun Du of the Department of Electrical Engineering, who won the National Special Award of the SUPER Teacher in 2017; and Prof. Bo-Ming Li of the Department of Electronics Engineering won the National Super Teachers' College Group in 2018. All their great achievements show that STUST has attached great importance to teaching and that the teachers here have achieved fruitful results in their teaching innovations.
