The College of Business and Management, STUST, recently hosted the 2024 International Symposium on Knowledge Economy and Global Management" and invited Professor Koo Jung-mo from the CITIC School of Financial Management to deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. Scholars from various countries participated in the event, including academic leaders and well-known international scholars from France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam and other countries. Academic elites from universities at home and abroad actively participated in this event, with approximately 300 people attending the event. It was an unprecedented event, a rare academic event in the circle of business and management in the southern region.

The seminar was rich and diverse, covering ESG, AI, marketing and consumer behavior, new business models and knowledge management, global financial markets and accounting, cross-cultural management, and international human resources. 50 excellent papers were published. During the two-day conference, scholars conducted in-depth discussions on various topics and stimulated many innovative ideas. Among them, ESG and AI issues have attracted much attention, showing that corporate social responsibility and artificial intelligence technology have become the focus of global business management circles.

One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the appearance of the AI virtual president, who delivered a welcome speech to the distinguished guests from afar. Acting President De-guang Chou was invited to Taipei to attend the Global Views Leaders Forum and share STUST’s AI and semiconductor talent cultivation strategy. Dean Ren-peng Huang of the College of Business and Management used AI generation technology to produce a virtual president speech, using digital innovation to present the school's enthusiasm and sincerity, symbolizing the school's forward-looking attitude and investment in AI applications.

In view of the importance of internationalization, STUST has also actively improved the internationalization of the campus in recent years. In addition to holding regular international academic seminars every year, it also sends students of doctoral and master’s programs as well as undergraduate students to the United States, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France. Students can study for degrees at sister schools in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and other European regions. At the same time, nearly 500 international students from more than 30 different countries have been enrolled in STUST. STUST currently has eight degree programs for doctoral/master’s programs and undergraduate programs taught entirely in English, and is actively recruiting students from all over the world. Among them, the doctoral program of business management, the master's program global business management (GMBA) and the undergraduate program of international business for the College of Business and Management are all taught in English and recruit international students. This shows that STUST is very active in promoting internationalization, and its internationalization performance has been highly recognized by the Ministry of Education and all sectors of society. In the future, it will continue to invest resources as well as expand and deepen international academic exchanges.

The College of Business and Management of STUST has passed the AACSB International Business and Management Education Certification, becoming the third university of science and technology in Taiwan to pass this certification. Ranked first among private universities of science and technology in the category of the "Top 30 Universities in Humanities and Social Sciences," as listed by Global Vision Magazine in it "2024 Taiwan's Best Universities Rankings." STUST continues to occupy the top spot among the "Top 30 Technical and Vocational Universities" in the South, becoming the No. 1 private university of science and technology in Southern Taiwan.

De-guang Chou, Acting President of STUST, said that this seminar has been held for 20 years. Since its inception, it has actively expanded international exchanges, established sister schools and international cooperation relationships with many well-known universities around the world, and provided degree programs taught in English. These have attracted many International students to Taiwan to study. It is hoped that the international seminars held every year will not only demonstrate the STUST's research strength in the field of business management, but also demonstrate the university's determination to actively promote internationalization.
