STUST, in collaboration with local technical high schools, is actively promoting international exchange programs. Recently, National Tainan Senior Commercial Vocational School held the German Educational Travel Pre-Cultural Program of the 113th Academic Year–Lectures on German Culture. There were 25 students from various departments and grade levels participating this event, which was designed to help students prepare for their upcoming educational exchange program in Germany.

The lecture featured Mr. Shu-hao Hsu from the International Affairs Office of STUST, who previously pursued his master’s degree in Germany. Drawing from his personal experiences, he shared insights into German culture, daily life, and potential challenges that students may encounter. His guidance helped students mentally prepare for cultural differences and reduce culture shock. The lecture also included basic German conversation training, equipping students with essential language skills for daily communication.

A highlight of the event was the participation of Svenja, a German exchange student currently pursuing a dual degree at STUST. Svenja is from the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz, a German partner institution of STUST. During the session, Svenja engaged directly with the students, addressing common stereotypes about Germany and providing firsthand insights into living in the country. She also shared practical tips for adapting to German culture, giving students a comprehensive perspective on their upcoming experience. The lecture was highly informative and interactive, helping students gain practical knowledge and build anticipation for their educational exchange in Germany.
