Southern Taiwan Alumni Association of the National Tsing Hua University and STUST worked together to held a high-profile forum focusing on Taiwan's future development—the 2025 Higher Education and High-Tech Industry Trends Forum—at the Niantzi International Conference Hall at STUST on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The forum centered on "sharing new books and development trends in higher education and the high-tech industry," bringing together top figures from industry, government, and academia to discuss how Taiwan's higher education can integrate with the ever-evolving high-tech sector and help chart a blueprint for future technological development.

One of the highlights of the forum was the special invitation of the highly respected former President of National Tsing Hua University, Honorary Chair Professor Wen-cun Chen, who presented his latest work: The Road to Excellence – From Rural Areas to Academic Halls. Drawing from his extensive academic knowledge and deep industry experience, Professor Chen offered an in-depth analysis of the key stages in the development of Taiwan’s high-tech industry from its origins to its current thriving state. He also discussed future development trends with a forward-looking perspective, offering participants thought-provoking insights.
In addition, the forum featured a specially curated symposium titled "The Vision and Outlook of Taiwan's Information and Communications Technology and Semiconductor Industry." Distinguished guests included President Neng-fu Huang of STUST, Director Sun-yuan Shie of International Affairs at National Cheng Kung University, Director Shi-jie Chang of the Institute of Optics and Electronics at the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and Executive Director Jun-yi Fan of the Information Industry Promotion Association. The symposium was hosted by Zhi-li Wang, Chairman of Southern Taiwan Alumni Association of the National Tsing Hua University. These prominent figures engaged in in-depth discussions on the current status, challenges, and future directions of Taiwan's information and communications technology and semiconductor industries, offering participants first-hand insights into emerging industry trends.
