1. In response to the Ministry of Education's "Bilingual Learning Program for College Students," the EMI Teaching Resource Center at National Taiwan Normal University (hereinafter referred to as the Center) is implementing the "EMI Teacher Professional Community Subsidy Program" and the "EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership Program." The Center is committed to strengthening the professional knowledge and skills of EMI teachers, teaching assistants, and counselors in colleges and universities, enabling them to refine their EMI teaching skills and pursue teaching excellence. The Center will serve as a core driving force for promoting EMI instruction and improving the quality of EMI instruction in various schools.
2. The Center will implement the following projects, targeting both teachers and students:
(1) The "Professional Learning Community of EMI Instructors" invites experienced EMI teachers to form professional communities based on different teaching focuses, including classroom practice-oriented, curriculum design-oriented, and AI technology application-oriented. Through collaborative learning, hands-on practice, and feedback mechanisms, these communities will deepen their teaching knowledge and practical skills, accumulate classroom observations and application evidence, and invite EMI experts to participate in seminars to promote diversified teaching methods and innovative applications. (2) The "EMI Academic Literacy Talent and Leadership Course" invites undergraduate and graduate students from universities and colleges, as well as those interested in serving as EMI teaching assistants (TAs) or writing center tutors. This program, offered in four sessions throughout the year, is taught by EMI experts and academic English instructors. The program is primarily delivered online, offering flexible learning options to enhance academic English proficiency. The Center also welcomes inquiries from universities and colleges about partnering with the EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership Program. If any university is interested in offering EMI teaching assistant training, please contact the Center.
