依衛生福利部傳染病防治諮詢會預防接種組(ACIP)114年12月9日第4次會議討論，考量時序入冬為呼吸道傳染病好發季節，以及後續春節連續假期探親旅遊等活動頻繁，COVID-19傳播風險增加，且接種疫苗後產生抗體約需2週，
決議自115年1月1日至115年2月28日擴大COVID-19疫苗公費接種對象為「滿6個月以上尚未接種之民眾」，以提升民眾免疫保護力，降低感染後併發重症及死亡風險。

Based on the discussion at the 4th meeting of the Advisory Committee on Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (ACIP) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare on December 9, 2025, considering that winter is the peak season for respiratory infectious diseases, and that the subsequent Lunar New Year holiday will see frequent family visits and travel, increasing the risk of COVID-19 transmission, and that it takes about two weeks for antibodies to develop after vaccination, it was decided to expand the scope of publicly funded COVID-19 vaccination to "people who have not been vaccinated for more than 6 months" from January 1 to February 28, 2026, in order to improve public immunity and reduce the risk of severe complications and death after infection.
