Dear Students and Faculty,
To foster a campus environment that respects intellectual property rights, please ensure all textbooks and course materials are used legally. In accordance with the Ministry of Education and the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), unauthorized copying or sharing of creative works violates the Copyright Act.
Under the Copyright Act, authors hold exclusive rights to the reproduction and public transmission of their works. To prevent accidental copyright infringement, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
📌 Core Guidelines
• Use Legally Authorized Books: Please use original textbooks, including legally purchased second-hand books.
• No Unauthorized Copying: Do not scan, photocopy, download, or upload books, research papers, or course materials without proper authorization.
⚠️ What Exceeds "Fair Use"?
• Mass Photocopying: Photocopying or scanning an entire textbook, or a major part of it (even if done in smaller sections over time).
• Illegal Digital Sharing: Downloading or uploading academic papers without permission, or distributing electronic textbooks from unverified online sources.
• ❌ These actions encroach upon the market for the original books and exceed the scope of fair use. Copyright owners may pursue legal action, leading to serious civil and criminal liabilities.
