Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the French sister school Paris 12-Val De Marne jointly organized the 2018 Summer Study Group and officially started training on the 4th of July. A total of 25 participants from the 7th Summer Study Group came to participate in the nine-week program.

In addition to the professional courses, the program will also offer rich cultural courses, such as pottery, calligraphy, and martial arts. In order to let students fully experience the unique culture and traditional skills of Taiwan, students will also be arranged to actually gain an in-depth understanding of the beauty of Taiwan, in addition to their cultural visits to Kenting and Sun Moon Lake.

At the opening ceremony, President Deng-Maw Lu of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology welcomed all the students to STUST, on behalf of the teachers and students here. As he said, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the 12th University of Paris in France became sisters in 2010. Frequent visits and communications have never stopped between the two universities, and they have signed a double-degree agreement and a tuition-free fee exchange agreement. The 12th University of Paris and STUST have students from each other to study for a degree or exchange study. He also encouraged all the students to have a deeper understanding in the study. The history and culture of Tainan, especially the specialties of Tainan, are internationally renowned and worthy of a new experience for French students.
