The Tainan City Government has introduced the integrated application of 5G technology and emerging technologies in the "Building a Future City" plan, in an attempt to create a cultural and technological quenching field where Tainan's local content industry and technology industry can be integrated and verified. With the support, Tainan has built the "MoreReal Lab 5G Cultural Technology Experiment Base" and a 5G private network experimental field to provide operators with a safe, stable and high-speed 5G environment, rich and diverse AR augmented reality, VR virtual reality, and interactive projection and other new technology experience equipment, as well as professional technical consulting services. It will further provide local operators, startup teams, and even teachers and students in colleges and universities with experimental testing and verification solutions to lower the threshold for entry into 5G and procure 5G cultural applications to take root in Tainan and quickly enter the 5G market in the future.

On that day, the teams participating in the base pilot project—including Bailu Animation Company, Remember Archive Company, Kaikai United Cultural and Creative Company, and Time Gate Imaging Company—took the lead in displaying phased 5G technology and cultural application results, becoming the first group to participate in "MoreReal Lab 5G Cultural Technology Experimental Base" trial operation. Although the works on display were still in the experimental stage, they made people feel the powerful power of 5G technology in cultural display, including the "VR Dream Return to Plominja" that allowed many people to travel through time and space at the same time and return to the Dutch era, enabling people to interact with "Art Array AR Virtual and Real Performance" where virtual characters perform together, "IR Cyanotype" that allows the public to enter famous public art, and "Fucheng Taste AR Dining Table" that can perform Fucheng snack cooking shows on the dining table. At the same time, the "Tainan AR Time Cultural Tourism", which recreates the historical features of Wutiaogang and Suehiro Town, was also on display, allowing Tainan's local culture to show a new technological look with the assistance of 5G technology and making the public feel the changes brought about by 5G. These works will also be held in formal exhibitions at the experimental base from April to October this year, so people can look forward to the excitement.

The Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Tainan City Government, pointed out that the "MoreReal Lab 5G Cultural Technology Experimental Base" will play an important base and locomotive role in the development of 5G technological and cultural applications in Tainan City, whether it is information sharing, technical exchanges, cross-domain cooperation, experimental trials, product verification, and talent cultivation will gather together in this experimental base and expand outward. STUST hopes to gather resources from industry, government, and academia to work together as a team, employing Tainan’s rich cultural heritage to leverage the advantages of 5G technology, provide local services, and give birth to a new economy of 5G technology and culture.
Professor Rui-shing Chang of STUST, who hosts the "Building a Future City—5G Application and Implementation Plan of Tainan City Local Cultural Characteristics Integration" project, said that STUST has fully integrated the professional technology and creative energy of the school. It will continue to work with industries to create a 5G technology and cultural ecosystem and demonstration applications in Tainan. Currently, STUST is combining the site and business advantages of the "Tainan Cultural and Creative Park," operated by STUST, to create Tainan's only 5G cultural and technology experiment. The base can be said to open a new page for the implementation of 5G cultural applications. Local businesses, start-up teams, or university teachers and students from all walks of life in Tainan who are interested in 5G technological and cultural applications are welcome to actively join the experimental plan of the experimental base.
